Coping with end of year deadlines

We anticipate that, with the end of the civil year approaching, you may be faced with deadlines hard to match given the infrastructure load. We remind you that a reservation mecanism can be triggered.

In addition, please be aware that the closest you specify your job requirements to your actual needs, the largest are your chances to see your job started for execution. For instance, if your job woud last only 12 hours (or could be stopped and restarted after that duration), you may want to specify that reduced walltime instead of the typical max walltime of 24 hours associated to the large queue; that gives the scheduler a chance to schedule your job sooner (via the so-called backfill mechanism).

Tier-1 documentation

We remind you that the documentation is available online via https://tier1.cenaero.be/en/faq-page. We warmly welcome comments on that documentation (by email to itatcenaero [dotcenaero] be) in order to keep improving it now that it can be done efficiently online.
