Learning Objectives
- Understand the foundations of Quantum Computing
- Understand the difference and relationship between Quantum Computing and Classical Computing
- Get the “feeling” for Quantum Computing using IBM Quantum Experience and Qiskit
- Get inspired about potential application areas for Quantum Computing
- Start or accelerate your personal “Quantum Journey”
Targeted Audience
- Academic Members of VSC
- Professors
- PhD students
- Postdoctoral Researchers
- IT Professionals from non-Academic organisation, such as industrial companies can join as well.
Prerequisite Knowledge
- MOST IMPORTANTLY: Curiosity to discover an exciting new world!
- It is an advantage to master
- Basics of Linear Algebra
- Basics of Computer Architectures
- Basics of Python or at least another Programming Language
Format
- There will be 4 lectures, each taking 2 hours, with a break of 10 minutes
- The lectures will be organized in consecutive weeks to optimize the learning impact
- The lectures will include practical hands on work as well, ranging from simple to challenging, using IQX and Qiskit
- Language of the lectures: English (depending on the audience)
