VSC is organising 4 sessions on Quantum Computing

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the foundations of Quantum Computing
  • Understand the difference and relationship between Quantum Computing and Classical Computing
  • Get the “feeling” for Quantum Computing using IBM Quantum Experience and Qiskit
  • Get inspired about potential application areas for Quantum Computing
  • Start or accelerate your personal “Quantum Journey”

​Targeted Audience

  • Academic Members of VSC
    • Professors
    • PhD students
    • Postdoctoral Researchers
  • IT Professionals from non-Academic organisation, such as industrial companies can join as well.

​​Prerequisite Knowledge

  • MOST IMPORTANTLY: Curiosity to discover an exciting new world!
  • It is an advantage to master
    • Basics of Linear Algebra
    • Basics of Computer Architectures
    • Basics of Python or at least another Programming Language

​Format

  • There will be 4 lectures, each taking 2 hours, with a break of 10 minutes
  • The lectures will be organized in consecutive weeks to optimize the learning impact
  • The lectures will include practical hands on work as well, ranging from simple to challenging, using IQX and Qiskit
  • Language of the lectures: English (depending on the audience)
